Be Talk: Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in Indiana Fusion

Brand: Chambor
Line: Powder Matte
Shade: Indiana Fusion (164)
Price: Rs 450

I got the fever of matte lipsticks since the last year-so much that in every cosmetics counter I only asked for matte lippys. My favorite shades are usually a variety of browns-especially peachy browns. However, I got thoroughly smitten by the Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in the shade Indiana Fusion and it actually kick started my knack for reds!

What the Chambor Website says about this lipstick:

  •  Excellent moisturizing effect.
  • Emollients: For creaminess and comfort & gliding effect.
  • Long wearing & water resistant.
  • Has spherical powders to get the ultimate Matte Effect.
  • No Animal Ingredients.
  • Dermatological Tested.
  • Regular use of Powder Matte Lipsticks makes the Lips Soft & Healthy.

Me Talk:

The shade Indiana Fusion is brick or terracotta red in shade. This is one shade that simply rocks on wheatish skin.

Not only the shade, I rave about this lippy because of its superb creamy texture and full matte finish. The name is aptly called powder matte- because the lipstick gives a soft matte appearance. It has awesome pigmentation - it requires maximum 2 swipes to give full coverage. It can stay put all day long with meals in between. The best part is that in spite of its matte nature-it doesn’t dry lips-on the contrary-it keeps them soft all day long. However, naturally dry lips should nourished with a lipbalm before its use.

Pro Side

1) Superb pigmentation-gives an opaque finish
2) All day long staying power
3) Full matte texture. Lips don’t look caked.
4) Doesn’t dry lips
5) Makes the lips look fuller-doesn’t accentuate fine lines on lips
6) The shade Indiana Fusion is perfect for Indian skin tones. It will complement all skin tones from wheatish medium to fair.
7) Price although is bit on the higher side-but it’s worth every penny spent for. Check out for discounts at various websites
8) Some very beautiful shades are available in this range-I already have two others

Downside:
None

Be-Talk: Chambor Silver Shadow Poudre Compacte

Brand Name: Chambor

Product: Compact

Shade: RR5-Noisette

Price: Rs 725

I am always on the look out for good compact powders-because they form a most important part of my everyday routine before going out. I look for ones-that have the shade nearest to my skin  tone,a light texture, that will absorb extra oils secreted from the face, and also will not look splotchy on sweating. I bought the Chamber Silver Shadow Poudre compact on impulse (read : vigorous pushing from SAs). However, impulse buys often pay off more than sensible ones I guess. I thoroughly love this compact now!!!

What the Chambor Website says:

Chambor Silver Shadow is made up of Translucent Loose Powder which has excellent blending ability, smooth application & a silky after feel. Also acts like a perfect base and gives you a healthy look.

  • Hides minor skin blemishes

  • Water resistant

Me-Talk

Well I found the perfect shade that matches exactly with my skin tone in this product-the correct texture to give a fully even finish-and most of all-it stays put even with profuse sweating on a busy hot summer day. Overall-this is what I wanted. Although it does not give complete coverage-I use it as the perfect setting powder over my foundation. I use this with large powder brush-and it leaves behind a flawlessly glowing skin-that doesn’t turn splotchy with sweating-In fact it never stands out from the foundation-such is the blending quality. And it has never broken me out. And although I would have bought this compact even if the single pan came for Rs 725, to add to my glee-it comes with a free refill pan!!!! That means two compacts of quantities larges than any other available compacts in market-are coming for 725 bucks!!! Me happy
However, I thing would like to mention is that-although I found a shade most close to my skin tone-which is brighty-wheaty- at first I was wondering if the shade would be alright for me-and was looking for a shade darker. I found that the noisette is the darkest shade available :(  So for dusky toned beauties-I feel this line is not much suitable-as the powder may leave a whitish cast. For medium, fair to very fair tones-this line could be most ideal. Also-this doesn’t provide full coverage-rather its quite sheer-so it won’t count in your choice if you are looking for a full coverage compact.

Pro Side

1) Acts a perfect setting powder for foundation-doesn’t let foundation budge for the whole day even in hot weather
2) Blends completely and effortlessly-Doesn’t become splotchy in sweat
3) Mitigates oily-ness to render a silky finish-yes the finish is not totally matte-its smoother
4) Exactly matches my skin-so no fear of funny photos :D
5) Stays all day long
6) Didn’t break me out
7) The buffing-puff is of better quality than of other compacts I have used

 8) Quite economical in size-with one free refill pan

Downside:
1) Medium coverage
2) Shade selection is biased towards medium to light tones
3) The large size-which is off course a nice thing-but gets 1 con point for me-because its difficult to pack in small purses.

Recommendation: 90%.

 Me-Talk:

I have a fascination for Chambor products-may be because each product I have bought from this brand has served me really well. I was eyeing the eyeshadows for long-there are about 10 combinations as shown in the picture above-however-I feel the one I got as a FREEBIE is the prettiest as all the colors are wearable -to me that is. This is a highly useful combo and all the shades are really pretty and I GOT IT FREE (OK I really need to stop saying that now :D) However, the downside is that, the shades do not have a uniform pigmentation-with the silver one having the maximum, bronze-brown medium and the shimmery pink one very low. The plain swatches are not at all visible and honestly I couldn’t catch them on camera. So, I thought instead of posting the “Ghosts of the shades”-let me swatch it with some primer beneath. I have used the NYX eyeshadow base in skin tone here. I was happy to see that the brown and silver colors were looking amplified with the primer beneath-however-the health of the pink one did not improve at all :( At most-with 5-6 swipes -some faint color could be caught on camera. In my opinion-with primer-the pink can work as a very mild lid color for daytime-that will not look OTT. Kinda good I must say :). Overall-I am happy – because it was FREE-and I love the bronzy brown color!!! However, the price is not at par with the pigmentation provided by this shadow trio.

With Primer

Without Flash
 Pro-Side:
 1) Very useful color combination, all colors are wearable and pretty

2) Classy Packaging

3) Sponge applicator more useful than found in some other brands

4) Bronze brown and silver color works nice with a primer beneath

With Flash
 Downside:

1) Poor pigmentation-

without primer-the colors are barely discernible

2) Price is 475 INR for the trio-or about 150INR for each one-quality wise- this price is over the top

3) This shade is not listed on the website-so not sure if this is discontinued :(
