Be Talk: Revlon New Complexion Makeup

Brand: Revlon
Product: Liquid Foundation
Line: New Complexion
Shade: Sun Beige
Price: 515 INR
Quantity: 35.5 ml

Many a times I get questions from girls-asking me to suggest a good foundation-an ideal one for everyday wear in Indian conditions. It should be something that wont harm skin as well as the pocket and also should be long staying, giving a non-patchy finish and which must also be available in a wide variety of shades to  choose from. Whew-sounds like finding the perfect foundation is like finding the perfect Man for a finicky girl!!! :D

Okay so here I am going to review my most used foundation out of all-something I have been using since 2009-only to remain ever impressed and loyal (I haven’t bought any other foundation so many times!) to this product. Why-because it is an almost “perfect man” in the world of foundations :D

I found the following details about this foundation in Medplus Beauty website from where you can order. There are currently three shades available. What is bit alarming is that this product often goes out of stock-so I buy my next pack just when my current one is around the middle of the bottle .

Courtesy: Medplus beauty website

The shades are:

Peach beige
Medium Beige
Sun Beige

The writing on the foundation pack says:

For the look of a perfectly natural skin:

@Light as air foundation that allows the skin to breathe
@Gives a no makeup look and feel
@Covers imperfections with light to medium coverage for a smooth even skintone
@Provides sun protection with SPF 4
@Oil free non pore clogging irritant free

Me Talk:

I have been using this foundation almost for the last 3 years, almost everytime I have went out. I have always found it as my HG foundation and very difficult to replace with anything else. The liquid foundation is runny in texture and easy to blend.

It usually needs a setting powder for the foundation to stay put all day long. I have used it in sultry summers when the skin feels almost like seeping out all the body fluids all day long. The foundation in such days didn’t wash away or smear with the sweat-nor did it come off on hankys when the face is wiped with them. Also-the texture is indeed so feather light-that it actually gets absorbed like water on skin-and yes-that too in heavily humid summer days. In winters-this becomes a no touch up foundation when topped over a hydrating lotion/moisturiser.

It gives a decent coverage to some acne marks that I have. The finish is flawless -in the sense that the coverage is buildable but the foundation doesn’t look cakey or patchy. It never caused me any breakouts-if I cleansed it away properly. As for the sun protection-I  have observed that after months of going out in the sun with this on- my face has not tanned much-and I don’t use a sunscreen. I guess the foundation helps in that way too!

With Flash
SO to sum up:

1) Easy to blend-when in hurry-I simply blend it with fingers like a moisturizer.
2) Stays all day long even during summer
3) Doesn’t melt in sultry summery weather
4) Gives medium coverage-sufficient for concealing minor acne marks and blemishes
5)Doesn’t break out even on by super breakout prone skin
6) Doesn’t feel uncomfortable or heavy on the skin-even in humid weather
7) Several shades available to choose from. The shade Sand Beige suits my skin tone to the T!
8) Price is reasonable-even with everyday use-the foundation may last for 2 months or more.

Down side:

1) Availability becomes an issue at times

Ratings: 100%

FOTDs: Its not difficult to find my pics wearing this-given that I have worn it so many times :D

Be-Talk: Revlon ColorStay® One Stroke Defining Eyeliner

Brand Name: Revlon

Product Line: ColorStay

Color: Blackest Black

Price: 515 INR

Picture from Revlon Website
I was fascinated with the sheer creamy feel and jet black color of this Revlon eyeliner when the SA at a Revlon counter swatched it first-couple of years ago-and I was equally depressed hearing its price!!!! Well-that was one time and this is another-The Revlon Colorstay One Stroke Defining eyeliner in Blackest Black is the MUST HAVE product in my beauty kit now! In fact I have nightmares-that this has been discontinued!!! (somehow -the most popular and probably the best products of some brands get discontinued-Best Example: Fab India Coral Glow Face Pack :(:( )

This is what the Revlon Website says about the Revlon One Stroke Eyeliner:

- Pencil eyeliner that draws strong lines with a single stroke; incredible silky feel as smooth as a liquid eyeliner
- New silicone gel structure formula
- Superb long-lasting effect and waterproof properties – an eyeliner that won’t smear, smudge, or fade
- The soft core is easily applied around the lash line, even to the inner rim of the eye
- The plastic casing perfectly protects the soft core of the pencil and maintains its waterproof properties

Me-Talk:

Well, in one word- SUPERB. This is what I ever wanted from an eyeliner-its blackest black-creamy like butter-holds the color and sheen all day long-doesn’t fade-doesn’t smudge-and doesn’t budge-even when used on waterline-and never gives any funny reaction. Only con-its so creamy that it has to be sharpened carefully and slowly-or else what may happen is shown below! Its the true one-stroke liner-and one swipe delivers enough color. No tugging or pulling the lid-it simply delivers what it claims. At 515 bucks-its bit on higher side of price-but I can safely say-its worth every penny spent for it!! With everyday use-this will easily last a month. And I am sure anyone will fall in love with it enough to buy it again!!!

Its undoubtedly one of the best Revlon products-and I saw some stunning colors-turquoise blue, purple and green I think- in this line before. I dunno if they are still available as the Urban Touch Website mentions it has only 2 shades. Need to check out!

 Pro-Side:

As I said-before:
1) Its blackest black in color-just as the shade name claims
2) Soft-creamy and glides like dream
3) Color stays all day long without fading
4) Totally smudge proof

Down side

1) Well price is bit on the higher side-but the product is really worth it
2) It is so soft that sharpening fast tends to break the tip :(

Recommendation: 90%

And Thats me wearing it :) I was actually shooting for the DKNY watch- hehe :D

Be-Talk: Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick

Brand Name: Revlon

Line: Velvet Touch

Shade: Choco Berry

Type: Creamy Matte finish

Price: 525 INR

Purchased from: Shoppers Stop, South City Mall, Kolkata

For everyone who loves a soft brown shade for everyday formal purposes-I would suggest them to go for this lippy without even blinking! The Revlon velvet matte range flaunts plenty of shades –browns, pinks, and nudes. But I particularly fell for the soft yet sophisticated look this lipstick imparts in 2-3 swipes. Paired with some kohl and compact-and the minimalist's beautiful look is ready! The packaging of this lipstick is good-and the transparent top of the cap helps in identifying the shade easily. The texture-as the name says is creamy and moisturizing.

A little bit of Lip-swatch and FOTD.....

Pro-Side

1) Creamy texture-soft and moisturizing

2) Stays for 4-5 hours, fades after having meals-but for a creamy finish lipstick I guess that’s OK

3) Doesn’t accentuate fine lines on lips

4) Good pigmentation

Down-Side

Nothing only that the price is bit on higher side
