Be Talk: Maybelline BB Cream: My Experience

I was getting impatient to try out the BB cream-after I bought it more than a week ago. Now I believe that-to test the efficacy of any makeup-it must be worn for a full day outside-in the most sickest of weathers (no I dont want to mean that during cyclones or Earthquakes make the ideal testing environment :D) and exposed to all possible discomforts. I mean to say-makeup should be tested on a warm day-will loads of sun and travelling-or exposing to the environment that you work at-to know how good it is for you in real. So I just waited for a long day out and wore the Maybelline BB cream underneath Maybelline Satin Finish Foundation ( Not available here-got from Germany- Its an AWESOME product)

So this is what I felt after using the Maybelline BB cream:

1) It requires about 3-4 pumps or blobs (as below) to cover the full face-but not the neck.

2) At first- on applying-it settles as a white layer-which takes about 1 minute to get completely absorbed on the skin and then you cant find a trace of it

3) After this settled-I blended it somewhat with a kabuki and applied liquid foundation over it. I found that-I needed lesser foundation than I usually need. The foundation literally glided over my skin and I got myself a flawless finish with little effort.

4) The appearance of acne spots looks mitigated-I wont say covered or concealed or diminished-I think the BB cream created a smooth surface over them-and the blending of foundation was so nice that pigmentated areas became less visible

I have a few pimple and acne scars on this side of my cheek-which are not much visible after using the BB cream below foundationn no concealer is used
5) My face looked Bright-truly bright after applying foundation over this. Now although foundations cover up skin imperfections and hide many flaws-they dont really impart brightness to the complexion. So often they look cakey/patchy/splotched-for which actually the underlying skin is to be blamed for. I found that my skin really looked radiant after using this Brightness Benefit cream.

 6) I wore it during daytime-when there was plenty of Sun and the weather was warm. I traveled long and found that my skin was getting an oily shine slowly. I mean this slowly made my skin look sweaty. I had to use tissue paper to wipe the oilyness off. So people wanting a matte look-this isnt for you

7) I dint find this BB cream to break me out after the single use
8) The quantity of the cream would last me about 5 uses-but seeing the result I am happy for the price I am paying.
9) I dont know how it will fare in peak sultry summer-when nothing but water survives on skin!
10) For very oily skinned ladies-this BB cream may not be suitable.

Be Talk: Maybelline BB Cream-Brief Review and Swatch

DRUMROLLS
The Maybelline BB Cream is Here
On My Hand!!!!

Call it hype-call it intense curiosity or call it a simple need for a Balm for Blemish -The Maybelline BB cream has got us waiting with bated breath for the last few weeks ever since we heard it coming! The last thing that sparked such intense interest among people was perhaps the new Bachchan Baby!!! ( Thats also BB :D)

As soon as I spotted it today in Shoppers Stop- I made a funny rush to the counter and yelled-BB CREAMMMMM!!!!!

I heard that the shipment arrived only today!

This is what I found out about the Maybelline BB cream over the Internet:

I am so sorry-my cam dint find a better time to bomb-I promise I will be posting better pics later!

Price: 199 INR

This is what is written on the back of the pack:

Infused with a good for you ingredients-talc, fairness complex moistiuriser and skin brightening minerals to 8 skin-transforming benefits.

Brigthens
Evens Tone
Protects
Hydrates
Freshens
Smoothes
Clarifies
Conceals Flaws

There are three shades available-1) Nude 2) Natural 3) Radiance

The nude is palest of all. Natural is the one I got. Radiance is cooler toned.

Me Talk:

I really need to test it thoroughly before I say anything conclusive about it. Even the SA at the shoppers stop told me with a smile-" Do tell us how it is after you use-its very recently launched product". The first impression was kinda surprising-as the BB of this cream actially stands for Brightness Benefit-rather than Blemish Balm. I dont know whether the name "blemish balm" has some copy right issues that the Maybelline BB cream acronym actually has the full form: Brightness Benefit! I am confused here-did Maybelline use the word BB cream to create the hype and then sell something entirely different that the real BB creams?? Dunno!!!

I find the container to be very small-its overall length is about 3.5 inches and the product amount is only 18ml. It is made in China. It says no oil, no pore clogging and suitable for sensitive skin. Whether it remains true to its claims-I needa check out.

Initially, I find it as a beige colored liquid with the consitency of a moisturizing lotion. I used it on the back of my palm and spread it. It settled down as a tinted moisturiser-with some white cast which was visible. I am not sure whether this cast is meant for concealing or creating the brightening effect.  This I think is supposed to be used as a base and topped with a foundation. That phase is yet to be tested- that how this BB cream accentuates the effect of foundation-whether it makes it stay longer-and whether the claim of 8rounds of benefit is actually true.

This is the final effect!

I tried to use it over some pimple marks to see whether it conceals the mark -I just found a whitish cast over them-not much of concealing effect was seen -but some brightness was definitely observed!!!

Will post more details once I use it for a whole day out with foundation!

BTW I had this today!

Be-Talk: Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Crazy for Coffee : Swatch and FOTD

Brand Name: Maybelline

Shade: Crazy For Coffee (No. 275)

Price: 299 INR

Quantity: 4g

Brown lipsticks form some must have and mostly found colors in my closet. I am not much into pinks , reds or maroons-however I have a nose for a variety of browns or lippys with brown undertones.  I love the way-browns with plum or pink undertones along with a sheer texture pairs so well with a variety of eye make up and since I am an although eye make up person-soft browns are my holy grails :D  The Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Crazy for Coffee is one of such a “save my day” type of brown shade.

The plum tones can be seen in flash
  Me-Talk:

The Crazy for Coffee shade is pretty unique-which looks purely brown in tube. On lips it comes out a beautiful rose toned brown-which is difficult to tell if it’s actually a plum or a brown. And the color appears so soft that it becomes a perfectly day wearable chic color. These type of colors-I think suits any kind of eye makeup-whether paired with heavy, colorful or neutral eyes :) And as an everyday neutral lipstick -it goes with a variety of colors of dresses and suits formal occasions too.

With Flash
 Pro Side:

1) Beautiful plum-brown color that doesn’t look garish. Gives a soft and nude finish-very wearable
2) Very Moisturizing
3)  Affordable quantity and quality
4) Easy availability
5) I have never found these lippys to sweat- or melt in summer

Down Side: Staying power is about 2-3 hours without meals in between

Recommendations: (For this Shade: 90%)

FOTD: Pairing with Lakme eye pencil in Aqua green
FOTD: Pairing with Revlon Colorstay pencil in blackest black and Maybelline Collossal Kajal
and some peachy pink blush from Streetwear

(Err-this pic was taken in the Sun-I am not that fluorescent kinda fair :D :D )

Be Talk: Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor in Yummy Plummy

Brand Name:  Maybelline

Line: ColorSensational

Shade Name:  Yummy Plummy

Price: 299 INR

Plums are pretty confusing colors to chose in my opinion-some plums turn out like maroons, some close to being pinks and some having fuchsia tones. So, solely by hearing the name plum-I get cautious and spend more than usual time to chose the correct shade. Yummy plummy hasn't turned me down. In fact its one of my "must have" lippys currently!!

What The Maybelline Website Says about these Lipsticks:
Picture from Maybelline Website
 Why You’ll Love It

  • Lipcolor so rich, so stunning… it’s sensational

Expert Tip
Apply your lipstick by starting in the center of your lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip for a gorgeously perfect finish.

Me Talk:

This plum beauty from Maybelline is one variant of pink-y-plum. In fact it looks like a cool toned deep berry pink at times. However, I am thankful that it does not go much towards the fuchsia side-because some fuchsias make me look like a zombie :D :D This goes a little sheer-2-3 swipes are needed to deliver full color. Rest well known qualities are listed below!!!

2 swipes

1) A sheer and wearable mild color-very complementing to warm skin tones
2) Very Moisturizing
3)  Affordable quantity and quality
4) Easy availability

Be-Talk: Maybelline Colorsensational Lipstick in Glamorous Red

Brand Name: Maybelline

Line: Color Sensational

Shade: Glamorous Red (No. 553)

Price: 299 INR

Picture from Maybelline Website
I got this lipstick during my brother’s wedding as far as I remember. Wedding purposes need at least one bright red lipstick-I am sure! I am a confused customer when it comes to wearing reds-at first I think I cannot carry off-may be it will fast-forward my look to some 20 years ahead-or “what will I do with this lippy for the rest of the year??-if its not everyday wearable”. With all these thoughts bubbling on my mind-I settled for this RED from the Maybelline Colorsensational line. And I am happy!

What the Maybelline Website Says about these Lipsticks:

 Why You’ll Love It:
  • Crisper color from pure pigments. Creamier feel from nourishing honey nectar
  • Lipcolor so rich, so stunning… it’s sensational
  • 33 Captivating Shades

Expert Tip

Apply your lipstick by starting in the center of your lip. Work from the center to the outer edges of your lip for a gorgeously perfect finish.

Me-Talk:

Well-as much as I feared that a “too bright” or “vampish dark” red will either mar my look or stay unused for rest of the year-I got this red as a most wonderful-pinkish red shade. Its often hard to tell if its a pretty deep pink with red tones-or a pretty red with pink undertones!! This red suits occasions-and also-because it is such a cool toned red-I think it will not look OTT even if worn during the day. It can be safely paired with a wide range of outfit colors also-from baby pinks-to royal blues-I have tried this and never got a smirk or squint or any grimace from onlookers..hehe!!. And there is nothing more to say about the moisturizing qualities of these lipsticks. In their budget, they simply RULE! Staying power is medium-with meals-it just fades somewhat. Overall-I will suggest everyone to have this versatile shade-because it’s can safely work for occasions and cater to everyday reach outs equally!

 Pro Side:

1) Lovely color-its hard to say if this color would ever look OTT!
2) Very Moisturizing
3)  Affordable quantity and quality
4) Easy availability
5) I have never had any of these  lippys that melted and broke!!
Down Side: Nothing

Be-Talk: Maybelline Colorama Nail Paint in Rosa Antigo

Brand Name: Maybelline

Price: 85 INR

Quantity: 8ml

Shade:  Rosa Antigo

However much I try to upgrade my list of preference of nail paints to some hep shades like colorful pastels and do some nail art on them-I somehow remain stuck to old fashioned pinks with a clear top coat. Whenever I am out for shopping for beauty stuff –I love to pick up nailpolishes in pink, peach and wine shades. My In my last shopping spree-this beautiful shade from Maybelline colorama caught my eye. Cant wait to share it with you :)

I got this product description from the  Urban Touch Website about the Maybelline Colorama Nail Paint:

Quick Overview

Glossy, chip resistant nail color in vibrant color.

Details

Maybelline Colorama Nail Color offers high-gloss nail color with 5 day wear. It combines a visually stunning palette of pigments, pearls and glitters. It’s the ultimate accessory that transforms your look from day to night, fun to funky and classic to daring in a flash.

Me talk:
I am liking this shade a lot-it is a beautiful peachy pink-just my perfect signature color. However, I am disappointed with its staying power-without a top coat-it chips from the top side after a day and certainly does not stay put for 5 days- as the product claims. I like the Express Finish range of nail colors from Maybelline- which are quick drying as well as stays far longer.

Pro Side:

1)Beautiful color
2)Available at many beautiful shades

3)Good Pigmentation- One coat delivers full color
4) Although this shade has no shimmer yet it has a good sheen
5) No funny smell

Down -side: Without a top coat-the paint hardly survived a day without chipping
