Be Talk: Biotique Bio fruit Flawless Whitening Face Pack

Brand: Biotique

Type: Fruit pack

Quantity: 85gm

Price: 199 INR

Here's me talking about one of my holy grail products in my closet. The Biotique Bio fruit Flawless Whitening Face Pack is not only one of the best face packs I have used so far-but also is my mostly used beauty product.

Biotique has updated its website very nicely giving all the necessary details about its wide range of products. Here is what is mentioned in the site about the Bio Fruit pack:

This luxurious de-pigmentation pack is blended with the juices of pineapple, tomato, lemon and papaya fruit to visibly lighten skin for a fairer, flawless look. With regular use, skin reclaims its soft, smooth, youthful tone and texture.

Ingredients:

Multani mitti (Fuller's earth), Gem (Garric), Yasad hhasma (Yasad bhasma), Tamator (Lycopersicum esculentum), Ananas (Ananas comosus), Kikargaund (Acacia Arabica), Paste base Q.S.

How to Use

Apply evenly over cleansed face and neck Leave on for 15-20 minutes. Rinse with water or damp washcloth. Use daily or as needed to lighten and brighten the complexion

Me Talk:

I am currently using the third pack of this product. I have combination and acne prone skin-that often looks dull-say after prolonged stay out in the sun or after a whole day sweating under a layer of foundation. In such days this pack gives my skin the instant boost , freshness and glow just after a single use. This pack truly rejuvenates the skin. If on prolonged exposure to sun or pollution I find my skin look lack-lustre-I use this pack to get back my original skin tone and suppleness. At first, on applying-this pack stings for some time. But this stinging doesn’t leave any redness or prolonged irritation after use. Since it is quite thick-it doesn’t need much time to dry. 15-20 minutes is the ideal time as mentioned on the website. The fragrance is not very pleasant I must say-but its not strong or overpowering. I apply a slightly thick layer and voila-my skin remains bright and glowing for the following two days! I don’t use it everyday-but as and when needed-and always the results are pretty good. However-for sensitive and rash-prone skin-I would suggest doing a patch test or be cautious before using this-because of the stinging feel. This would be a very good pack for dry to normal and combination skinned people I think.

So to sum up:

Pro-Side:

1) Makes the skin look fresh, supple and glowing after single use.

2) Reduces pigmented areas caused due to exposure to sun or pollution

3) Doesn't take much time to dry

4) Economical for the quantity in the tub

Downside:

1) Stings for a few seconds after applying. For people with sensitive skin-this is quite a con. My mom couldn’t stand it and washed off L

2) Tub packaging = Messy Affair

Be Talk: Faces Canada Crème Matte Lip Gloss

Brand: Faces
Type: Matte Lip Crème
Shade: Chestnut 06
Price: 399 INR
Quantity: 4.5 ml

This is another product from the last shopping Haul I made in 2011. I have been eying the Faces Lip creams for a long time. My first preference was off course NYX lip-cremes as they come in some spectacular shades and quite reasonable price. However-after two of my NYX orders from online shopping sites failed to reach me-I sorta got discouraged and thought of getting my first Lip Crème by Offline Shopping from Faces :D

I found description of this product from the HealthKart Website

Faces Creme Matte Lip Gloss offers complete color coverage and keeps lips soft and shiny. A hint of it gives you the sweetest whisper of color; a lot gives you rich, creamy pigment.
Faces Cosmetics is an internationally acclaimed cosmetics brand from Canada.

This is Written on the Carton:

1. Made from flex form complex which immediately defines and smoothens the lips
2.Its easy to apply, offers complete color coverage and helps keep lips soft and shiny forever
3. Dermatologically testsed

Me Talk:

This is my first matte lip cream. One thing I always fear about matte finish lip products is that they would dry lips and make fine lines more visible. I thoroughly dislike the “caked” feel and appearance on my lips and so was bit apprehensive before buying the Faces Lip crème. However I was happy to see the effect after applying the Faces creme matte lip gloss. I am not sure why they are calling it a gloss as the finish is perfectly matte.

The lip crème gives full coverage in one or two swipes and glides like butter on the lips. It feels light-almost feels as if nothing is on the lips. The best thing is it doesn’t dry lips. However-if the lips are naturally dry-or you are using it in winters-it is best to keep a lip balm handy.

The staying power is pretty good-about 3-4 hours with meals in between. It doesn’t transfer to where the lips touch and fades evenly. It doesn’t settle on the lip lines and make them look parched. Also-these don’t smudge or bleed at all-and so pairing with a lip-liner isn’t necessary.

The particular shade-Chestnut is a true MLBB shade for me. I pick it up on days-when I am in no mood for makeup (ya-that happens too :D) I like the way it gives the lips a slight hint of color and the crème finish. Given that the staying power is high-I am assured that I wont need touch up soon-and thus my “no makeup look” remains hassle free. This is a great shade to wear during daytime or office –along with thinly defined eyes and some earthy blush.

So to sum up:

1) Smooth texture that glides truly like crème on the lips
2) Very good pigmentation-gives a full coverage to lips in one or 2 swipes
3) Doesn’t dry lips-however- in dry seasons or for dry lips- using a lipbalm is required after some time of application
4) Renders a true matte look. Feels very light on lips and doesn’t look heavy or cakey
5) Stays for good 3-4 hours with meals in between. Doesn’t transfer or bleed
6) Chestnut is a nice brownish MLBB shade for wheatish skin tones. There are some other really pretty shades available too. I am eyeing a plum one next

Downside:
1) Availability of Faces products is not as good as other well known cosmetics
2) No proper website.

Be Talk: Faces Mineral Liquid Foundation

Brand: Faces
Line: Mineral
Type: Liquid Foundation
Shade: Beige (03)
Price: INR 499

In the last haul of last year-I bought a bunch of Faces products. I dint have a prior preview of most of them-it was an impulse shopping session (actually I got bored of waiting for a friend and hit a big Cosmetics store in North Kolkata to vent my frustration somewhat :D)  So there I went-and got the Faces Minerals foundation for myself.

PS: I am obsessed with foundations of late. Before this I bought the Lakme Intense White Foundation which I thoroughly disliked. And more the number of times I get a wrong product-the more I freak out to get a better one :| I hope my mom is not reading this…

Okay-So I got a description of this foundation from the Health Kart website-where it is available at a discount of 60 bucks.

FACES Mineral Liquid Make up

Faces Mineral Liquid Makeup smoothens and illuminates your natural skin tone. Its light weight formula does not drag or cake up. It contains vitamin E that helps renew your skin tone from within.
Faces Cosmetics is an internationally acclaimed cosmetics brand from Canada.

This is written on The Carton:

1) Smoothens and Illuminates your natural skin tone
2) Light weight formula that doesn’t drag or cake up
3) Vitamin E helps renew your skin from within

 Me Talk

From the first day of use-I am smitten by the awesomeness of my first mineral foundation. I prefer a dewy look and a foundation that has a shade close to my wheatish skin tone and also which doesn’t give a patchy finish. The Faces minerals foundation fits these bills like it was made to be my perfect foundation!!! This foundation isn’t exactly liquid-it has the consistency of a slightly thick cream. It gives medium to full coverage. It comes in a tube with a nozzle-which I find more convenient than a bottle or tub packaging.

What I like is that-this foundation needs no setting powder or compact. On blending properly-the foundation gives an instant pearly glow to the face. I have never seen any other foundation to do this before. The blending is easy as the foundation glides on and on-until the last bit of it is absorbed into the skin. I off course use liberal amounts of moisturizer beneath it. As I said-I dint use any powder to set this foundation-still it doesn't melt or make me sweat.

Also I have noticed that with other foundations-the face turns darker as you sweat and move around in the sun (Umbrellas and sunscreens are like an extra luggage to me forever :D). However, I found the Faces foundation to maintain the original shade and finish all day long! And the best part! It didn’t break me out at all-I have used it twice so far-and somehow-I don’t know how-my face looks tad brighter after its daylong use!!!

Just after applying
Do you see the nice blending and finish!

After a day long wear WITHOUT any touch up
SO to Sum up:

1) It gives a flawless finish. By flawless I mean-non-patchy-non cakey-and-non oily/slathering
2) Easy to blend because of the creamy consistency
3) The coverage is medium to full and it doesn’t budge with heat or sweat
4) Foundation doesn’t melt-but due to oil mines in my T zone-that place slightly “glazed” after some time. Dry skinned people wont have this problem
5) It didn’t break me out at all. On the contrary-my face looks brighter after everyday I use it.
6) This shade (Beige 03) is a perfect shade that compliments my wheatish skintone.
7) No whitish casts-it render the skin a pearly glow after applying
8) The tube with nozzle prevents wastage or contamination
9) Only 2 blobs like the one in the picture is enough to cover the face and neck.

Down-Side:

1) The quantity is only 25 ml. And given that you would thoroughly love the product-I wonder if one tube would last a month!
2) The packaging should have been made transparent-so that the quantity remaining could be understood.

Be Talk: Celeb Style File: Katrina Kaif at the launch of Econ Air Conditioners by Panasonic.

We Girls can learn one good thing-and one bad thing from Katrina Kaif for sure..

1) How to rock in a simple black dress

2) How to give similar expressions in all photos

Well I discovered these truth's while viewing the pics of Katrina Kaif at the launch of Econ Air Conditioners by Panasonic at Hotel Renaissance in Powai on this Dec 23rd. She is looking elegant-diva-licious and drop dead gorgeous-and giving the LBD (little black dress)-a new reason to fall in love with!!! I dunno whether it is her stylist-or her inner fashionista -that makes her look this good even with minimal makeup and accessories. The dress completely compliments her figure-which I guess needs no further definition after watching Chikni Chameli :D. Her demure makeup-IMO-comprises of : heavily penciled brows, generous amount of mascara, a peachy pink blush and her most signature pink gloss. Over all the look is neutral and dewy. I suppose this is not exactly a good choice for winter events-which I think demands more warmth and provides more opportunity to experiment. I guess Bollywood beauties are not much into innovations when it comes to public appearances (well my first post on Kangana was an exception though)-and their makeup and style really gets predictable after some time.

And now-if you might be wondering why the pics look so similar- refer to my point#2 /wahaha /wahaha

Be Talk: Faces Moisture Rich Lipstick First Lady

Brand  Name: Faces (Canada)
Line: Moisture Rich
Shade: First Lady (04)
Price:INR 330

I consider the brand Faces to be a breath of fresh air in the Indian cosmetics market. It has brought so many wonderful products at such reasonable prices-that it is giving hard competition to all the well known brands as well as providing us-the beauty addicts-with scores of quality products at most attractive prices. I love their lipsticks-and the one I bought from my recent haul from Urban Touch is the Faces Moisture Rich Lipstick in the shade “First Lady”.

What the Urban Touch website says about these line of Lipsticks

Quick Overview

Creamy lipstick in rich pigmented color

Details

Faces Moisture Rich lipstick provides rich, opaque color to lips and keeps them soft at the same time. The formula is infused with Vitamin E to protect and moisturize the lips with every application.

Me Talk:

I got enthusiastic recommendations of this lipstick from my buddy blogger Tapaswini - who said I must check this lipstick out sometime and that I will love it surely. I am always skeptical about buying color cosmetics from online stores as there are no reference of shades. However- thanks to Taps-I am thoroughly loving my latest online purchase from Urban Touch website-who flawlessly packed and sent me this lipstick with some discount as well.

The First Lady Shade of the Faces Moisture Rich lipstick is a poppy-pink lipcolor- err-a better description would be barbie pink :D Such a color goes with a wide range of outfits-having dark or pastel colors. It has very fine golden shimmers in the otherwise creamy lipstick. This, overall gives the lipstick a glamorous sheen-along with awesome pigmentation and opaque texture.

The fine shimmer

This is my so called-One Swipe Lippy. I haven’t come across many lipsticks that are as pigmented as this one. But one thing-the lips must be well moisturized before applying-else what I found-is that on dry and parched lips-this lipstick feels somewhat sticky and settles on lines.

But when I used it after giving my lips a hefty dose of a Body Shop lip balm-this lipstick felt light on lips without any cakey feel. Owing to its sheen-it gives a beautiful pout and looks good even without a liner!

And I guess procuring this lippys is not a problem anymore-with reliable online shopping websites delivering them at the drop of hats to every corners of the country.

So to sum up:

Pro Side:

1) Lovely Barbie pink shade-which will suit all complexions-and wide range of outfit colors
2) Gives an opaque finish in 1 or 2 swipes. The fine shimmer imparts the sheen to the overall look
3) Stays easily for 4-5 hours and beyond meals due to its thick texture
4) Price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity
5) Doesn’t dry lips –but as I said-it will fare best on moisturized lips

Cons:

1) Like all creamy lippys-this transfers to cups and err other places… /wahaha
1) Availability at stores is a con-this brand is found rather selectively. Also for online buyers mainly- it is difficult to buy without seeing the shades in swatches. So I don’t know when I will be ordering the next lippy of this line-not at least before seeing swatches. Or I would have to visit Faces outlets-which is off course not available locally.
2) The Faces brand haven’t yet launched a comprehensive and updated website.

My first itsy-bitsy EOTD caught on camera :)
