Be-Talk: Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel

Brand Name: Patanjali (Product of Patanjali Ayurveda)

Type: Aloe Vera Gel

Quantity: 150ml

Price Rs 75

The war paint we love swathing our face with isn’t really tender to our skins at all. Although they may be non-comedogenic - the sweat, sebum and grime never let the skin rest in peace. Especially if facial makeup is an imperative part of someone’s daily routine, break outs are most often found to be a regular affair, accompanied with dull skin, spots and eventually robs off the natural essence of beauty from face-something that no amount of full coverage foundation or concealer can hide. Therefore, we need some holy grail product that will form some kind of a skin defense but as girls-our demands are hardly so few! We need that to be non-sticky, to get absorbed quickly, to have no funny smell and certainly no weird feel :D Considering all this –I can safely say-I have found mine!!!

Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel

The Patanjali Website says: “USEFUL IN REJUVENATING, NURISHING, BEAUTIFYING AND GLORIFYING SKIN, HELPS IN RETAINING HEALTHY SKIN”

Ingredients: ALOE VERA, BASE MATERIAL, PERMITTED COLOUR, VITAMIN- E, FRAGRANCE AND PRESERVATIVE

Me Talk:
It is a lime colored semi thick gel-(a little less thicker than gel tooth pastes) with a pleasant mild smell. Although It feels slimy at first , but gets absorbed within a couple of minutes of application to give a soft supple and glowing visage. I have used creams, serums, gels, lotions to emulsions-but none gives such an instant suppleness as this one! And guess what! It minimizes pimples from the first application and if used everyday before makeup-or as required-it actually stops the appearance of pimples ! There is a definite glow observed from the very first use-no not the fluorescent glow that fairness ads show-it’s the glow of soft and supple skin. Overall, I consider it as a genie in a bottle (sorry tube  :))and can be the one step skin care product for anyone who have nightmares about skin problems!

Pros:

1) I found the pimples clearing up within a few applications and new ones stopped from appearing
2)Skin looks like a freshly watered leaf after its use!!
3)Non sticky-gets absorbed within minutes
4) Works as a fantastic moisturizer for oily skin
5) Price is incredibly low for the quantity one gets with an 18 month longevity!

Cons! No way!

Be-Talk: The Body shop Strawberry Bath and Shower Gel

Brand Name: The Body Shop

Type: Shower Gel

Price: 325 INR

Quantity: 250 ml

Doesn’t it sometime happen-that you buy one thing for some purpose-but then end up falling in love with an entirely different feature of that product?? Like-when we were kids-we used to buy pens and suddenly discovered that the ink smells so nice!!! A similar thing happened when I came across the The Body shop Strawberry Bath and Shower Gel last month. I was looking for a mild body wash-and among a handful of others (the TBS outlets are pretty confusing I must say-decked up as they are with products-each of which I feel like buying!) I picked up this pretty crimson colored gel. But then-after my very first use-I got bowled over by its super awesome smell!!! It smells just like fresh strawberry syrup-pleasantly enchanting-lingering and pervading through senses! It got me smitten since my first use-and I just couldn't resist buying it for the 2nd time :)

Picture from the TBS website

The product label says that: Sumptuous soap-free cleansing with strawberry extract and community trade soya oil. However no detailed ingredient list is provided.

 Me Talk:

Well I said all about it-I just love love love this body wash. It is just what I wanted-mildly cleansing-something that doesn’t make the skin dry-and leaves behind a refreshing fragrance! The gel is of average thickness-only the amount shown in the picture below is required for full arms and neck area. It leaves the skin thoroughly soft and in summertime-I felt I needed no separate moisturizer to keep my skin hydrated after using this! The 200ml bottle lasted me about 2 months with everyday use. And considering the brand is TBS-the price is Oh! So reasonable!!!!!!

 Pro-side:

1) Awesome fragrance-you would actually want to put it on some dessert  :D

2) Mild cleanser that doesn’t dry the skin-rather keeps it soft and supple

3) Its soap free but lathers well enough to give the “cleansed” feel

3) For the price –the quantity is quite reasonable-with the quality being so awesome

Down Side

Only one-its not edible!!!! hehehe

Be-Talk: Olay Natural White Foaming Cleanser

 Brand Name: Olay

Type: Foaming Cleanser (Face wash)

Quantity: 50ml

Price: 99 INR

Thanks to my skin which is moody as much as I am-I am constantly on the look out for face washes which can control the localized oil mines on my face-and I want the oil-free effect to last long too. I have used facewashes from various brands-but the oil control effect I see lasts maximum upto one hour or so. This time-I was packing my bags for my trip-and needed a travel friendly size of facewash tube-and the store lady suggested me to use the Olay Natural White Foaming Cleanser. Since I had a fairly good experience with the Olay Natural white day cream-I slipped it into my bag without much qualms.

What the Olay Website says:

Product information

Cleanses and refreshes your skin as a first step towards a healthy looking natural fairness that glows. This cleanser removes dust, pollution and make-up residues to help keep
your skin looking naturally fair and healthy.

 Ingredients:

Water, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, Sorbitol, PEG-200 Hydrogenated Glyceryl Palmate, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Citric Acid, Polyquaternium-10, Fragrance, PEG-100, Disodium EDTA, Propylene Glycol, BHT, Linalool, Cucumis Sativus (Cucumber) Fruit Extract, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.

Me-Talk:

I like the way this cleanser keeps my face oil free for a long time and leaves it deeply cleansed while lathering nicely. I observed that it somehow controls breakouts too! However, it tends to make my skin dry and I hardly can do without a moisturizer after using it. So I have to get my hands on an oil-free moisturizer immediately-or using this face-wash would become useless within few minutes! And as for fairness-I seriously did not test results-trust me-a facewash is supposed to CLEAN your face –not turn it white!!! However, the squeaky clean feel this face wash renders is good enough to make my skin look bright-as it removes grime and dirt quite efficiently.

Pro Side:

1) It instantly removes the greasy feeling on skin

2)Oil-free effect stays for long

3) I observed breakouts to lessen during its use

4)Gives a deep cleansed feeling-which I guess makes the face look    bright and glowing as the product claims.

Downside:

Makes skin feel dry and stretchy after use. A moisturizer is imperative following its use.

Be-Talk: Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick

Brand Name: Revlon

Line: Velvet Touch

Shade: Choco Berry

Type: Creamy Matte finish

Price: 525 INR

Purchased from: Shoppers Stop, South City Mall, Kolkata

For everyone who loves a soft brown shade for everyday formal purposes-I would suggest them to go for this lippy without even blinking! The Revlon velvet matte range flaunts plenty of shades –browns, pinks, and nudes. But I particularly fell for the soft yet sophisticated look this lipstick imparts in 2-3 swipes. Paired with some kohl and compact-and the minimalist's beautiful look is ready! The packaging of this lipstick is good-and the transparent top of the cap helps in identifying the shade easily. The texture-as the name says is creamy and moisturizing.

A little bit of Lip-swatch and FOTD.....

Pro-Side

1) Creamy texture-soft and moisturizing

2) Stays for 4-5 hours, fades after having meals-but for a creamy finish lipstick I guess that’s OK

3) Doesn’t accentuate fine lines on lips

4) Good pigmentation

Down-Side

Nothing only that the price is bit on higher side

Be-Talk: GUCCI GUILTY POUR HOMME EAU DE TOILETTE

Brand Name: Gucci
Line: Gucci Guilty
Name: Pour Homme Eau De Toilette

Bought from: Frankfurt Airport Duty Free Shop

Price:  48.5 Euro

Type: For Women

Be-Talk

The best thing about returning by flight from a place you fell in love with-is certainly the duty free shops at the airport. It’s like the final good-bye hug from somewhere you do not want to leave. Well that’s what happened with me when I was on my way home after spending a lovely week in the German countryside. The Frankfurt Duty free shops-I wouldn’t call it a shopper’s haven-since I missed some good brands there-I so expected I will find NARS and Urban Decay-but found Dior, Chanel, YSL and L’Oreal-all of which I find nowadays in Kolkata. So thought about hitting the perfume gallery. I could locate many well known brands there and finally settled for a Gucci.

An Image from Gucci Website
The website describes this perfume as having top notes of lavender and lemon, heart note of orange flower, base notes of cedar wood and patchouli.

Me-talk:

Well this is a Gucci-so there should be a round of “aww” for that. But after the initial adoration-comes the scanner of critic. In the first few moments after spritz, the aura was awesome-I felt it to have a deep-seated sweet flowery fragrance beneath a fine citrus flavor. I know these all do not technically describe a perfume-but I am not much of an expert to define perfume by notes. All I feel is that it is sweet inside with a tangy outside. (Doesn’t that sound like a typical Sagittarian Woman???-hell yeahh-I am one !!!)

 That's my first Gucci !!!

Pro-Side:
Good for women who like sweet fragrances with some tang.

Down Side:

1) Staying power is not that good-smell fades within 2-3 hours.

2) Price: Much on the higher side

Recommendation: I warn you, that this perfume is a Casanova-It pulled me away from a Chanel rack to submit to it. Its rather attractive-but with some downsides. So do try some other lines before settling for this one.

And the Blog..

Well I have not exactly outlined what one can expect from this blog-but I thought I would start with what I have enjoyed doing all these days-writing about beauty stuff I have used, loved , hated or simply forgot that they are there in my wardrobe!!!! No I wont call these articles “review” as it sounds rather like some digest from “Wall Street Journal” or “IEEE -Selected Papers on Electromagnetics” ..hehe- I always thought-in MY blog- I will call them Be-Talk..because obviously there is a lot of talking I do on products whether I like or dislike them.
AND I WANT TO START THIS BLOG WITH A GUCCI ! Aint that Cool!!!

Okay-so after this “Premier” article, I would be uploading my reviews (oops!! Be-Talks!) one by one on products I have used previously-there are hell many-before I start off with some latest beauty buys during my last trip to Germany..
And TADAA- I will be announcing a “Kick-StartGiveaway when I am done with my old product reviews and before I start to write about new stuff. Watch out for that

Be Beautiful !

It is not easy for a woman to be beautiful...because beauty lies in the eye of beholder-and that person is the woman herself ! Beauty is all about how one sees oneself in the mirror-no-not the phenomena of reflection of light-it is the reflection of an inner desire..The desire for self satisfaction-the feeling of being special..The true woman is proud of herself-her pride lies in the awe she inspires, the silently adoring eyes she passes by, the grace she exudes without knowing..That-what makes a commoner special like a princess-that’s Beauty-every woman’s dream-every woman’s being…

After having spent a year writing about the magic wands of makeup, reading about them-talking about them-and at times dreaming about them-I finally decided to have a beauty blog of my own. I see hundreds of girls having their lovely own blogs-but somehow I feel-each blog expresses each girl in some unique way-like their favorite flavor of coffee or the color of lipstick they always pick. So here is my blog-it’s a part of me that refuses to keep inside-it loves to tell, share, learn and gossip..

And why Golden Sequins you say? Ahh-the blinding bling of golden sequins….
Enjoy!
