Be Talk: Celeb Style File: Katrina Kaif at the launch of Econ Air Conditioners by Panasonic.

We Girls can learn one good thing-and one bad thing from Katrina Kaif for sure..

1) How to rock in a simple black dress

2) How to give similar expressions in all photos

Well I discovered these truth's while viewing the pics of Katrina Kaif at the launch of Econ Air Conditioners by Panasonic at Hotel Renaissance in Powai on this Dec 23rd. She is looking elegant-diva-licious and drop dead gorgeous-and giving the LBD (little black dress)-a new reason to fall in love with!!! I dunno whether it is her stylist-or her inner fashionista -that makes her look this good even with minimal makeup and accessories. The dress completely compliments her figure-which I guess needs no further definition after watching Chikni Chameli :D. Her demure makeup-IMO-comprises of : heavily penciled brows, generous amount of mascara, a peachy pink blush and her most signature pink gloss. Over all the look is neutral and dewy. I suppose this is not exactly a good choice for winter events-which I think demands more warmth and provides more opportunity to experiment. I guess Bollywood beauties are not much into innovations when it comes to public appearances (well my first post on Kangana was an exception though)-and their makeup and style really gets predictable after some time.

And now-if you might be wondering why the pics look so similar- refer to my point#2 /wahaha /wahaha

Be Talk: Faces Moisture Rich Lipstick First Lady

Brand  Name: Faces (Canada)
Line: Moisture Rich
Shade: First Lady (04)
Price:INR 330

I consider the brand Faces to be a breath of fresh air in the Indian cosmetics market. It has brought so many wonderful products at such reasonable prices-that it is giving hard competition to all the well known brands as well as providing us-the beauty addicts-with scores of quality products at most attractive prices. I love their lipsticks-and the one I bought from my recent haul from Urban Touch is the Faces Moisture Rich Lipstick in the shade “First Lady”.

What the Urban Touch website says about these line of Lipsticks

Quick Overview

Creamy lipstick in rich pigmented color

Details

Faces Moisture Rich lipstick provides rich, opaque color to lips and keeps them soft at the same time. The formula is infused with Vitamin E to protect and moisturize the lips with every application.

Me Talk:

I got enthusiastic recommendations of this lipstick from my buddy blogger Tapaswini - who said I must check this lipstick out sometime and that I will love it surely. I am always skeptical about buying color cosmetics from online stores as there are no reference of shades. However- thanks to Taps-I am thoroughly loving my latest online purchase from Urban Touch website-who flawlessly packed and sent me this lipstick with some discount as well.

The First Lady Shade of the Faces Moisture Rich lipstick is a poppy-pink lipcolor- err-a better description would be barbie pink :D Such a color goes with a wide range of outfits-having dark or pastel colors. It has very fine golden shimmers in the otherwise creamy lipstick. This, overall gives the lipstick a glamorous sheen-along with awesome pigmentation and opaque texture.

Without Flash
The fine shimmer

This is my so called-One Swipe Lippy. I haven’t come across many lipsticks that are as pigmented as this one. But one thing-the lips must be well moisturized before applying-else what I found-is that on dry and parched lips-this lipstick feels somewhat sticky and settles on lines.

But when I used it after giving my lips a hefty dose of a Body Shop lip balm-this lipstick felt light on lips without any cakey feel. Owing to its sheen-it gives a beautiful pout and looks good even without a liner!

And I guess procuring this lippys is not a problem anymore-with reliable online shopping websites delivering them at the drop of hats to every corners of the country.

So to sum up:

Pro Side:

1) Lovely Barbie pink shade-which will suit all complexions-and wide range of outfit colors
2) Gives an opaque finish in 1 or 2 swipes. The fine shimmer imparts the sheen to the overall look
3) Stays easily for 4-5 hours and beyond meals due to its thick texture
4) Price is very reasonable for the quality and quantity
5) Doesn’t dry lips –but as I said-it will fare best on moisturized lips

Cons:

1) Like all creamy lippys-this transfers to cups and err other places… /wahaha
1) Availability at stores is a con-this brand is found rather selectively. Also for online buyers mainly- it is difficult to buy without seeing the shades in swatches. So I don’t know when I will be ordering the next lippy of this line-not at least before seeing swatches. Or I would have to visit Faces outlets-which is off course not available locally.
2) The Faces brand haven’t yet launched a comprehensive and updated website.

My first itsy-bitsy EOTD caught on camera :)

Be Talk: Oriflame Haul

The aunty at the salon where I visit bi-weekly or AAWN (as and when needed :D) has recently discovered her fascination for Oriflame products. No-its true!!! She off course is a representative -but then the first thing she bought was some beauty capsules worth 1990 INR for herself!!! Anyway-no harms-but then one day-as I knew would surely come-she popped out three most holy grail products (according to her) that I must use-for causes as assorted the products were! So after about a year- I made an Oriflame Haul-with the following stuff-

Be Talk: Celeb StyleFile: Kareena Kapoor at the BIG STAR Awards 2011

Here we get another bombshell in black-Kareena Kapoor in a Namrata Joshipura black gown at the BIG STAR Awards 2011. I find much similarity between this look and Kanganas attire in my last post-the dark eyes-with-nude lipstick pair. However- Kareena is looking subtly beautiful rather than hitting the loud chord here!!! And the makeup is flawless IMO!!! Thickly lined eyes-nude lippy-peachy blush/highlighter never goes wrong!!!

A model showcasing the Namrata Joshipura gown at a fashion show
I found out some other pretty Namrata Joshipura creations on the internet-will share them with you in a post later :)

Be Talk: Celeb Style: Kangana Ranaut at the Hindustan Times Mumbai’s Most Stylish Awards 2011

Well-Kangana Ranaut has inspired me finally to start a new section in my blog!

The Celeb Style Files!

Actually her winged eyes did the magic. Being a through and through winged eye lover-I just couldn't stop myself from sharing this avatar of Kangana. Well I loved the way the eyes are making a strong statement-which is not going over the top because of the nude lips. However, the makeup looks slightly cakey along the jawline in the second pic.
I like the well fitted dress too-paired with golden shoes-I so wish se carried a pale golden or golden beige clutch instead of the black one!!

Any guess on the brand of her dress or shoes??

Be Talk: Vedic Line Choco Vanilla Face and Body Butter

Brand: Vedic Line
Type: Body Butter
Price: 180 INR
Quantity: 65ml

The online shopping websites are doing a great job in bringing forth some brands-that are somewhat lesser heard of than leading ones, but possesses an exquisite hoard of good quality products. I am an impulsive shopper who loves to pick up products from such brands -especially when I visit online shopping websites. In my latest haul from the Urban Touch website-I bought the Vedic Line Choco Vanilla Body Butter and was left wondering-how could I have missed checking out this brand for so long!!

I was amazed to find a comprehensive website of this brand-which has scores of skin and hair care products. I am just giving here an overview of the large variety of products of this brand.

And if you follow all the hyperlinks in the above-each will lead to 5-7 new related products in each category-So you can well imagine what galore of products this Brand hosts!!!  Of course-all of them might not be available everywhere-still-knowing that an Indian brand has such extensive range of regular use as well as luxury products is great-and whats more-a lot of them are now being available through online shopping sites.

So talking about the Choco Vanilla Face & Body Butter , this yummy flavored body cream falls within the Chocolate Spa for Skin & Body Care  range of Vedic Line products. There are  other products in this category such as:

Choco Strawberry Lip Cream
Choco Deli Sugar Scrub
Milk Chocolate Massage Gel
Choco Almond Oil Complex
Choco Butter Scotch Crem Pack
Choco Cherry Mud Pack

The Vedic Line Website describes this product as:

The MRP is quoted as 200 INR-but at UT-it is available at 180 INR

Me Talk:

I am mad about chocolates!! From ice-cream to face-cream-nothing can be better if it smells like chocolate!!I wonder why they don’t make choc flavored toothpastes! Hehe. Ok-so when I decided to order some stuff from Urban Touch website (Read about my haul here)-the choco vanilla body cream instantly grabbed my eyes. Seeing the price to be quite reasonable, I placed the order. After receiving it last Monday, I found this “body butter” from Vedic Line to look just like Peanut Butter-in color and consistency :D :D The flavor is vanilla than chocolate-but it very pleasant on the whole. What I like about this cream is that it has a light texture that instantly gets absorbed on skin. There is no sticky-ness or oily residue-and whats more-it keeps hands (I have so far used it on hands only) really soft. Especially-it is good at preventing winter dryness. My mom had suddenly developed dry areas around her lips. Although she never approves of my brand hopping-she liked the smell of this cream and used it to find that the dry areas have shown much improvement within a day! However-considering the moderately thick consistency of this cream-I think for very dry skin-the moisturization provided may not be sufficient. But for normal and oily skin types-which need sufficient softening in the dry winter months-this cream is a winner. The quantity is a mild con-the meager 65ml would get over in 2 weeks if used everyday. I wish it was at least 100ml for its price. However-I will rate this as a good product –especially for winters.

So to sum up!

Pro Side:

1) Light weight cream-that instantly gets absorbed in the skin leaving no sticky or oily feeling behind
2) Great mild fragrance that stays for a long time
3) Moisturizes dry areas very well. The effect lasts quite long.
4)Small tub (well that’s actually a con that I mentioned) facilitates carrying it around in bag

Cons:

Quantity is less for the price-with generous everyday use-the tub may last for two weeks.

I really want to try the other products of Vedic Line-I mean the choco range looks yummylicious to me!!! I just need to locate a store or find them on any online shopping website!!!
